Pinoy MUGEN Fighting Game Project

Ei guys! I'm here to start a project dedicated to Pinoy MUGEN fanatics out there.

I've been a fan of MUGEN for quite sometime now and I was wondering if any of you might want to join me in creating the first All-Filipino 2D fighting game. MUGEN is a heavily customizable program that is wonderful especially for independent video game makers. Gamit yung MUGEN na software, I'm thinking of making a fighting game which would feature Filipino characters in them. Pinoy heroes (whether they be mythological, historical, realistic or fictional basta astig!) would slug it out alongside Pinoy villains arcade style (ala Marvel vs Street Fighter or Capcom style)! This game would be complete with Pinoy soundtracks as background music, and stages that would feature the Philippine setting (ex: Banaue Rice Terraces, SM mall of Asia, Wowowee Studio, etc..). Just think of the possibilities, I think it'd be great.

As of now e nasa planning stage pa lang ako. Here's one of the sample character designs I made:

I made all of them from scratch so sorry for the half-baked quality Anyway, Andres is just one of the roster of characters that I'm thinking. Other heroes that I'm planning to include are Darna, Bernardo Carpio, an OFW and a Manila's Finest na Pulis.

So what do you think guys? I need all the help that I can get. I'm willing to share my knowledge and provide links, tutorials for MUGEN game development that I have gathered throughout the net. I am also just starting to learn this software so please bear with me. Madali lang naman matutunan talaga ang paggawa, kailangan lang e hindi ka nag-iisa. Tsaka tiyaga lang I assure you that once this project's been a success e pare-parehas nating mae-enjoy ito! hehe

I need your thoughts guys, for anybody who might be interested to offer help, encouragement (need a lot of it , comments, reactions or suggestions, please feel free to PM me or better yet post a reply to this thread. I will also be posting any updates regarding this project to this thread so stay tuned. Antayin ko kayo guys ah... Hehe

Updates regarding the project:

I've made a storyline which would become the foundation for the Story Mode of each character. This would be told using an intro video as the game starts. I haven't transcribed it for now but I'll be sure to post the story outline once its finished.

Project is still underway. Spritesheets for every bosses and characters will be done probably next week once I've already gotten help. Anyway, I'm still missing the Babaylan character which I should have done a month ago. Hehe I'm still working on the design, I'm being careful on the elements which I'll be using so please bear with me.

Hey guys, sorry if it took me a while to present some updates. Anyway, here are some screens for the screenpack I'll be using for the game.

These are just the title screens for the character intros, what follows after these screens are a series of storyboards which would narrate the character's storyline. Haven't finished all of it, but i'll be sure to post those once it's ready.
